One More Chance in relation with Philippine Politics

Few days ago I was ranting about how I’d love to see One More Chance and it’s just sad that I can’t because I’m here in the US and the movie was released in Philippines. But guess what, I’ve seen it and I loved it! Thanks to the internet, online video streaming and to people who took the grueling task of uploading them online. And please don’t ever give me the crap that I’m not being righteous for showing support to this kind of “freebies” because I stop caring ever since leaders of my dear country, Philippines, stop overseeing these kinds of problems and all they care about is their own selfish motives in uplifting their own lives and not the lives of the people whom they promised prosperity and equality during the election period.

Lol. Now talk about relating One More Chance with Philippine Politics.

One More Chance

I seldom watch Filipino movies. I don’t know. Probably because of the cheesy dialogs and poorly constructed storyline. But I’m certainly digging this one. Well, aside from John Lloyd’s superb-acting-that-never-fails-to-break-my-heart-whenever-he-starts-crying, but for once the movie title wasn’t named after a song plus the story was kinda new. Definitely not the typical Hollywood or Korean love story that I’ve seen. And I believe, this movie totally deviates to what has been the trend in the local movie scene — a movie inspired, if not ripped off, to some foreign movies.

That is just so refreshing, I mean at least there’s something new to watch out for. What saddens me though is the fact that I’m hundred of miles away from my homeland and I don’t know when will I ever have the chance to see this film.

Starring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo. One More Chance is a movie by Star Cinema and it’s now showing in local cinemas.

The Quest of New York’s Hopeless Romantic

I’m talking about Patrick Moberg and his quest to find the girl of his dreams.

The story?

Well, Mr. Hopeless Romantic took this train where he saw the girl of his dream. He didn’t instantly talk to her because he was feeling a little nervous for the lack of words. And when he finally mustered some courage to talk her she’s already getting off the train. He ran after her but unfortunately, she was gone amidst the sea of unknown faces. Being the romantic hopeless that he is, he devised a plan to find her and so he started his quest. He put up a website where he uploaded a sketch of the girl (see below) of her dreams hoping that through the help of the Internet, he’ll find her.

Amazing Race 12

If I remember it correctly the airing of the twelfth season of the Amazing Race is suppose to be next year because the organizers of the show had decided to take a short break. And so I was surprised when I’ve read in the latest issue of Star Magazine that the Amazing Race 12 had its premiere telecast last Sunday! Too bad I wasn’t able to catch the pilot episode.

Happy Birthday Mcoy!

At Strike of dawn, kuya’s housemates greeted the birthday boy with a bang — loud banging of pans and pots. It was indeed a pleasant surprise for Mcoy albeit being shock. And it took him a few seconds before he could actually react from the cheers of his fellow housemates. It’s definitely a birthday to remember for Mcoy not only because of having a big puto (pinoy delicacy) as his cake or getting some unusual birthday presents but because of the thoughtfulness of people whom he barely know and whom he just met some weeks ago.
