TV Ratings Race: GMA 7 shows remain unbeatable

Once more, GMA Network‘s shows continue to dominate Philippines’ T.V. ratings race. As the week ended, Marian Rivera’s Marimar remain unbeatable on it’s number 1 slot.  Garnering an impressive 43.1 percent rating, Marimar is surely the most watched series to date. But not far behind it was Richard Gutierrez’s Kamandag who took a 37.1 percent share of the viewing household.

The Korean Drama Coffee Prince and Dennis Trillio’s Zaido showed no sign of losing their streak as they ranked third and fourth respectively.

As for ABS-CBN, they failed once again in securing the coveted top spots of the rating race. The live-anime series Kung Fu Kids was so far their top-rater show among the three series they’ve recently launched. Kung Fu Kids secured the sixth position while Angel Locsin’s Lobo and Jake Cuenca’s Palos took the seventh and ninth position.

You Don’t Mess with the Zohan is Adam Sandler’s upcoming movie which will be out this summer. In this film, Adam Sandler played the role of an extremely tough middle-eastern agent who moves in to New York to become a hair stylist. Lol.

Spiderwick Chronicles Movie Trailer

Another movie based on a book. But I haven’t read any of it. I think that’s a good thing though. I mean, at least I don’t have any expectations for the movie yet. Anyway, looking forward to this film. Looks interesting to me plus I kinda like the kid that plays the lead characters (twins). I don’t know the name but I know He’s Freddie Highmore and he’s the kid on the movie Charlie and Chocolate Factory and August Rush.

Another movie from the creators of the Chronicles of Narnia. The Water Horse: Legend of the Deep is about a boy who found one mysterious egg that when hatched, turned out to be a legendary sea creature. And from there begins an enchanting story of love and friendship as the boy tries to protect the secret that gives birth to a legend.

More Hollywood Babies to come

First off, Tori Spelling is now showing off her baby bump. There’s no more hiding it as written by People.com. Tori Spelling, who was with husband Dean McDermott, was seen very much pregger last friday at Santa Monica. No word on a due date yet.

Then I’ve read on local tabloids that top-billed couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, are expecting a new child. And though the couple haven’t confirmed it yet, tabloids are saying AJ, showing up at the Screen Actors Guild Awards in an enormous drapery-like gown, was a sure giveaway that actress is so pregnant. Well, I guess Hollywood’s famous couple have decided to join the fun too.

The Eye

The Eye is a movie remake of a 2002 Asian horror film that goes by the same name. The American version of The Eye, stars Jessica Alba, who played the role of Sydney Wells, a blind young talented concert violin artist whose sight was restored when she undergone a double corneal transplant. But little did she know that this gift of sight will only lead her into a haunting world of horrifying images.

The Eye in theaters everywhere starting February 1.

Marian Rivera to do Dyesebel?

In the press conference of her upcoming movie, My Best Friend’s Girlfriend, Marian Rivera was asked by the press if her next project after Marimar is Dyesebel. She neither confirms nor denies it. And when asked what role she is most likely to choose between Darna and Dyesebel, Marian quickly replied “Dyesebel!”
