Philippine T.V. Ratings (Feb 15-18)
The Kapuso Network remains unshakable on top of the t.v. rating race as their shows continue to dominate the top 5 positions of the rating chart. Marimar is still the number 1 most-watched primetime show in Mega-Manila while Joaquin Bordado had overtaken Kamandag a notch placing both GMA shows in the 2nd and 3rd spot respectively.
With the ABS-CBN Network, Angel Locsin’s Lobo is catching up and took over the 6th position on Monday night pushing the anime-like kiddie show Kung Fu Kids down a notch. As for KC Concepcion‘s highly publicized appearance in Maalaala Mo Kaya, her featured presentation didn’t return a record-breaking output but nevertheless it rated fairly.

Dream Big Kapamilya….
LOBO is a very creative show shown on TV nowadays. This can be compared to Hollywood productions. I love to watch Fantaseryes because of the visual effects, cinematography, storyline and the direction especially. I love new shows done by intelligent people.
I also love MARINA which inspired a lot of teachers teaching literature, culture and values.
The only thing that I don’t like about these fantaseryes today are they are so cheap and not child-friendly especially JOAQUIN BORDADO and KAMANDAG. Now, do you know that in MEGA MANILA, a lot of killings, rape, violence and murder is so high in ratings? Answer: Bacause the values that are being promoted by these shows are morally corrupt. NOW, atttention all TV NETWORKS: OUR society today is morally bankrupt because of the influence you are giving to it. Why don’t you focus on airing shows that promotes the value needed to change our country for the better. The country is now suffering because of the values shown on TV. You are very responsible for the degrading society today.
YEs money is important in our daily living but the love for it is the root of all evil.
Someday soon you will answer all of these. Why don’t you concentrate on producing shows that educate the viewers to think deeply.
Yes, it is also true that most of the shows shown on TV today are based on money-making, please don’t forget that your impact on the lives of children is also great.
Today, (in the Phil.)where do you find a lot of street children? broken homes? Yes, in METRO MANILA and in LUZON. What shows are they watching? Now, are you happy that you rate so high?
I’m not saying that all shows on TV are that bad but please, Remember that someday you will be responsible of the moral bankruptcy of our country.
I watched sshows on both station. On cultural focus, I like to watch shows like MARINA, ENCANTADIA, LOBO, MARIA FLOR DE LUNA.
“Monkey see, monkey do.” What people/children saw on TV they do it in real – life.
On attacking the artists. Stop doing these! they are persons with PUSO as what GMA promotes (KAPUSO) and they are also part of the family of the entire country as what ABS-CBN is promoting (KAPAMILYA).
Why don’t we give criticism that can improved the artist? They are also humans like us.
Today, disunity among Filipino people roots in the family because of the shows they are watching. Try to look at that. Some members of the family like this, others like that.
Now the root cause of our problems today can be traced in the family and these TV NETWORKS has to answer someday.
Why don’t these two networks work hand in hand? A FAMILY THAT WORKS WITH BRAIN and HEART for a greater good.
I do watch programs that are entertaining and something that you can learn about. With this, ABS-CBN answers it.
Watching Kung Fu Kids will surely help our kids the value of friendship and family values. The portrayal of those kids in their roles seem realistic, for they show their real nature-both good and bad side of their character. So children, don’t forget to watch this program. You can learn values from these kids.
For Lobo with Angel and Piolo, this program teaches us to love animals and develop family values. Angel and the rest of the human wolves really reflect how vulnerable the animals are in compare to man’s superiority. This program shows how we should learn to live with animals, for they too, learn to love and live. For Angel and Piolo, they reall act great! The emotions are always high while watching this program.
I do love watching Palos. It can be compared to that of Alias and 24. This program is full of twist and suspense. It is great!
PBB Teen Edition Plus serves an eye opener for the youth. Watching for the sake of looking at the beautiful/handsome faces of teens should not be the sole purpose in watching this program. Youth can learn from these teens the value of education and family.
For T.V. Ratings, I really don’t believe on it. T.V. Ratings don’t really reflect the entire viewers in the Philippines. A portion of our population does not guarantee to represent the entire nation. What if it happens that those televiewers happen to be Kapuso? or Kapamilya? T.V. Ratings can ONLY BE RELIABLE AND VALID if they survey the whole Filipino population. If it is only a portion of our population, I really doubt its veracity- it might even manipulated by those who engage in a survey. You can do magic in papers and biases are still there.
I therefore recommend to those companies making T.V. to put a built-in monitor in their T.V. products so as to prevent the manipulations of TV. Rating.
For ABS-CBN, count me in as your avid viewer. I have been raised a Kapamilya viewer since we had our first T.V. since 1977. I don’t watch the program of the other station which claims to be No. I ( I doubt it)-their T.V. programs are appropriate only for young viewers only and not for both young and old alike which ABS-CBN does cater!
