Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street

Watched Sweeney Todd today and it’s bloody awesome! And when I say bloody, I mean, literally bloody. *heh* Imagine blood everywhere. You gotta love it. =)

Sweeney Todd stars Johnny Depp and this is his sixth collaboration with director Tim Burton. Other movies Johnny Depp and Tim Burton did were Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Sleepy Hallow, Corpse Bride and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The film also stars Helena Bonham Carter who played the role of Mrs. Lovett. As for Helena, this is her fifth team-up with Tim Burton, following Corpse Bride, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Planet of the Apes and the Corpse Bride.

Anyway, I also find it rather amusing to watch three actors who were known from their characters in the Harry Potter series, work on another project. Though they portray a different character on this film, I was like; Oh lookie, Bellatrix Lestrange (Helena Bonham Carter) is singing and Wormtail (Timothy Spall) too! And Severus Snape (Alan Rickman), Oh boy he looked stunning without the greasy hair!

It’s really funny that I remember their characters’ name in the Harry Potter series more than their characters’ name in Sweeny Todd.

Sweeny Todd was released in the United States on December 21, 2007 and had already won the Best Motion Picture and Best Actor title in the recently concluded 65th Golden Globe Award.
