A Millionaire’s First Love
A Millionaire’s First Love is yet again another tragic story of love.
Jae-kyung is one arrogant brute. He drives fancy cars. He’s often in clubs partying hard more than he is at school studying. He’s young. He’s spoiled. He’s rich. Life is definitely perfect for Jae-kyung.
Eun-whan is the exact opposite of Jae-kyung. She’s poor and she always live a simple life. She works at a gasoline station while she studies at a local high school. Her only wish in life is to find her true love when the first snow of winter drops.
In the morning of Jae-kyung’s 18th birthday, he got the surprise of his life — he lost everything he has and the only way he could do to regain possession of all his assets is to follow what his deceased grandfather asked him to do and that is to finish high school and get his diploma in a place selected by his deceased grandfather otherwise he won’t get all his inheritance back. But unknown to him, the place chosen by his grandfather will eventually reveal something about his past.
So having no money to spend on all his caprices, Jae-kyung was left no choice but to follow whatever it is his grandfather wants. He left behind his luxurious life and set off in a place that is way different to the one he got used to. And little did he know that he is about to learn the greatest lessons of his life in that place especially when he and Eun-whan set their eyes for each other.

There’s really nothing new about the plot of the movie and I’ve seen movies like this many times. But what makes me love this movie despite some clichés in its storyline, is the abundance of romantic scenes and shots that definitely added some impact to the story. Also, I love the movie’s soundtrack. It suits perfectly with the scenes and it definitely sets the mood of the entire film. And I have to commend Hyun-Bin’s (Jae-kyung) acting. He seemed natural especially when he cries. Aww. It really breaks my heart to see a man crying. And that’s one thing I like about Korean Actors, when they cry it’s really full of emotions as if you can really feel their pain. Sigh… I think that’s one thing Filipino actors lack.
Overall, I love the film. Simple story. Simple setting. Yet some scenes together with the soundtrack would make you cry. So if you love tearjerkers, you must see this film. I’m such a sucker for tear-jerking movies. No wonder I am such a crybaby.
