TV-host, singer and actor, Francis Magalona was diagnosed with leukemia and he’s now in need of blood donors.

This news was also confirmed by the his Eat Bulaga Family. Before the Itaktak Mo segment of Eat Bulaga starts, Vic Sotto read a text message sent by Francis M. In the message, Francis M. broke the news of his illness and asked the support of the televiewers. He ended his message by promising to the televiewers that he’ll surely return to Eat Bulaga and grace our television once more.

Reportedly, Francis M. is currently confined at The Medical City in Pasig City. Also, a blood donation drive for him was organized by friends and relatives at the ground level of the said hospital.

Dyosa (Goddess) tells the story of a young girl named Josephine, who unbeknown to her that she’s really a Dyosa — a descendant of Mariang Sinukuan and Bernardo Carpio and is destined to rule the world of the upper gods. For years, she has been living the life of a mortal. But on her 18th birthday, she discovers the secret of her origin. A Satyr (half-man half-goat) appears before and told her who she really is and that she needs to return to save the world of the gods and goddesses as it is in great peril. Now Josephine is torn between saving the dying world of the upper gods and loving the man she loves. What will she choose? Will she give up immortality and power to be with her one great love or will she live up to her destiny and save the world of the upper gods.

Dyosa features Kapamily stars, Anne Curtis, Sam Milby, Zanjoe Marudo and Luis Manzano. Dyosa is ABS-CBN’s upcoming fantaserye and it will have it’s primetime telecast on Monday, August 11, 2008.

Nothing much had changed as far as Mega Manila Ratings is concern. The Kapuso Network still dominates the top half of the chart and the next half belongs to the team Kapamilya.

In the Daytime race GMA 7 shows, Magdusa Ka, Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan, Eat Bulaga and Daisy Siete fought over the top four positions while ABS-CBN show Wowowee remain constant on the fifth position which is by far was Team Kapamilya’s top rater show in the daytime race.

Meanwhile in the Primetime period, Marian Rivera’s Dyesebel is consistent on the number 1 position. And Richard Gutierrez and Heart Evangelista’s Asero come into second place. Other Kapuso shows that made it on the top 5 positions are Regine Velasquez’s My Name is Kim Sam Soon and Mel Tiangco’s 24 Oras. As for the Kapamilya shows, The Singing Bee, TV Patrol World and IIsa pa Lamang played over the fifth, sixth and seventh position.

Reportedly (by Box Office Mojo), Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is scheduled to be released on November 21, 2008.

Dyesebel is still number 1 in Mega Manila households. Garnering a high rating of 41%, Dyesebel once again proves that she is indeed the most famous and most loved mermaid of the Philippines. =)

Next to Dyesebel in the rating race was Robin Padilla’s Joaquin Bordado which had its final episode last friday and it posted a 40.8% rating, .2 percent short to topple down Marian Rivera’s Dyesebel on the number 1 spot.

Robin Padilla’s next project for the Kapuso Network is another TV adaptation of Carlo J. Caparas’ komiks series entitled Totoy Bato and reportedly the Philippines’ Pambansang Kamao Manny “Pacman” Pacquio is being casted for Robin’s upcoming series. Oh well, let’s just wait and see.

Anyway, another teleserye which had its final airing last friday was Angel Locsin and Piolo Pascual’s Lobo. The said show had a rating of 24.4% grabing the 6th position on the ratings chart. And as for Angel Locsin, I’ve read that her next project for ABS-CBN is yet another localized version of the Mexican actress, Thalia hit drama series, Maria Mercedes. I don’t how true this news is, but if ever this project will be pushed through, then the rivalry between Angel Locsin and Marian Rivera is really on. I mean didn’t just Marian Rivera portrayed MariMar which happens to be Thalia’s drama series too? ^_^;

Dayana Mendoza won the most coveted crown in the Miss Universe 2008 pageant which was held on July 13, 2008 at Nha Trang, Khanh Hoa, Vietnam.

Dayana Mendoza is the 5th Venezuelan representative to win the said title. The 22-year-old newly crowned Miss Universe 2008 works as a fashion model and has traveled to Italy, France, United States, England, Greece, Spain, Germany, Mexico and Peru for Versace, and Roberto Cavalli among other fashion designers. She’s also a trilingual who speaks Spanish, Italian and English.

Pinoy Idol closed its stage to 16-year-old Idol hopeful from Iloilo, Sue Ellen as she was the 4th person to be eliminated from the said reality show.

On her last performance, Sue Ellen sang her version of Dadalhin Kita Sa Aking Palasyo, a song popularized by the Asia’s Songbird, Regine Velasquez.

I’m really loving Boyce Avenue’s version of Jordin Sparks’ No Air. Alejandro Manzano’s voice is just amazing. Lol.

I don’t know if this news is true as there’s no confirmation yet coming from Lorna Tolentino. But on past interviews, LT’s manager, Lolit Solis confirmed that she has an offer to do a soap opera for the Kapamilya Network and that they’re considering it. So I guess, they did accept the offer and we just have to wait for their official statement.

Lorna’s last soap opera with the Kapamilya Network was Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay where she played the role of Red Butterfly.

Well I think, this time it’s for real. =)

Hollywood’s A-list couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, welcomed the newest members of their family; Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline.

The twins were delivered through a Cesarean section on Saturday night in a hospital from Southern, France. Reportedly, the couple scheduled the delivery of their twins on a later date but it was moved sooner for medical reasons.

Knox Leon and Vivienne Marcheline is the 5th and 6th member of the Jolie and Pitt’s growing brood, consisting of Maddox, Pax, Sahara and Shiloh.
