What hurts…

• letting go of the person you’ve just learned to love
• reminiscing the good times you’ve shared together
• shielding your heart to love somebody
• trying to hide what you really feel
• trying to hide tears that involuntarily falls from your eyes
• loving a person too much

• giving up someone you never thought of giving up
• having the right love at the wrong time
• taking the risk of falling in love again
• hiding your relationship from someone else
• controlling your feelings to avoid hurting a friend
• thinking of him every waking and sleeping moment, knowing all the while, that he never even thinks a single thought of you
• letting go, because every time you see the person, you only fall deeper
• holding back, only to find out when it’s too late, you both feel the same way, but were only scared to lose each other so much that you didn’t let the feelings out
• finding the perfect boy — the only problem is he doesn’t love you
• helping the one you love court your friend
• seeing the one you love crying for someone else
• the waiting also hurts like hell
• having to hear — “I’ve met someone” or “I’ve fallen for someone else”
• agreeing to his wish to “just be friends”
• asking his freedom back ‘coz “he’d be happier with her”
• asking you to “forget everything that happened” and be “normal” friends again
• hearing that you are treated as a “sister”
• sharing his future plans with the girl with you
• you stopped being friends because his girlfriend asked him to
• being denied in front of the people
• telling you lies, where he’d been actually, he was with a “new friend” or an “old flame”
• he told he’d be leaving you to return to his ex (the one he left for you!)
• breaking someone’s heart
• fighting for that one thing that would make you happy
• that is, holding on to a person who cannot guarantee his commitment unless he fixes himself… then you are left hanging for the moment… the he says time will tell… but you still decided to hope in his love and trust him
• pretending you’re okay when inside you’re dying
• pretending to be strong and recognizing your weaknesses
• lying in bed each night, thinking of that special person you can never have
• being with someone you can’t actually love
• pretending you don’t love a person whom you actually love
• being in love
• letting go even if you really don’t want to… having no right to say you are hurting because it was your decision
• seeing the person you love hurt because of you… and not being able to help that person
• having the courage to say I love you to the person you love and finding out afterwards that things will never be the same again when he/she doesn’t treat you with the same closeness before
• having to face that fact that someone is capable of completely destroying the wall that you have set for yourself, leaving you weak and vulnerable
• admitting that you love someone despite his imperfections
• finding out that the more you try to hate him, the more you end up loving him, perhaps even more that before

God replied that each person who enters our life has a unique lesson to teach us. And it is only through these lessons that we learn about life, people, relationships and God. This confused the woman, so God began to explain.

When someone lies to you it teaches you that things are not always as they seem. The truth is often far beneath the surface. Look beyond the masks people wear if you want to know their heart. And remove your own masks to let people know yours.

When someone steals from you it teaches you that nothing is forever. Always appreciate what you have, for you never know when you might lose it. And never, ever take your friends and family for granted because today is the only guarantee you have.

When someone inflicts an injury upon you it teaches you that the human state is a fragile one. Protect and take care of your body as best you can, it’s the only thing you are sure to have forever.

When someone mocks you it teaches you that no two people are alike. When you encounter people who are different from you, don’t judge them by how they look or act; instead base your opinion on the contents of their heart.

When someone breaks your heart it teaches you that loving someone does not always mean that person will love you back. But don’t turn your back on love because when you find the right person, the joy that one person brings will make up for all the past hurts put together. Times ten.

When someone holds a grudge against you it teaches you that everyone makes mistakes. When you are wronged, the most virtuous thing you can do is forgive the offender without pretense. Forgiving those who have hurt us is the most difficult and courageous thing Man can do.When a loved one is unfaithful to you it teaches you that resisting temptation is Man’s greatest challenge. Be vigilant in your resistance against all temptation. By doing so you will be rewarded with an enduring sense of satisfaction far greater than the temporary pleasure by which you were tempted.

When someone cheats you, it teaches you that greed is the root of all evil. Aspire to make your dreams come true, no matter how lofty they may be. Do not feel guilty about your success, but never let an obsession with achieving your goals lead you to engage in malevolent activities.

When someone ridicules you it teaches you that nobody is perfect. Accept people for their merits and be tolerant of their flaws. Do not ever reject someone for imperfections over which they have no control.

Upon hearing the Lord’s wisdom, the old woman became concerned that there were no lessons to be learned from Man’s good deeds. God replied that Man’s capacity to love is the greatest gift he has. At the root of all kindness is love, and each act of love also teaches us a lesson.

The woman’s curiosity deepening, God once again began to explain.

When someone loves us it teaches us that love, kindness, charity, honesty, humility, forgiveness and acceptance can counteract all the evil in the world. For every good deed, there is one less evil deed. Man alone has the power to control the balance between good and evil, but because the lessons of love are not taught often enough, the power is too often abused.

When you enter someone’s life, whether by plan, chance or coincidence, consider what your lesson will be. Will you teach love or a harsh lesson of reality? When you die will your life have resulted in more loving or hurting? More comfort or pain? More joy or sadness? Each one of us has power over the balance of love in the world. Use it wisely. Don’t miss an opportunity to nudge the world’s scale in the right direction.

Pass this lesson of love on to those you love and to those you have hurt.

For each person who receives this, there will be a little less evil in the world and a little more love.

Since it’s Valentine’s day today, let me share this forwarded email I got a long time ago. Well this may seem cheesy to some but don’t you think that all things romantic are cheesy most of the time. *heh*

3. Cook for each other.

4. Walk in the rain.

5. Hold hands

6. Buy gifts for each other.

8. Find out their favorite cologne/perfume and wear it every time you’re together.

9. Go for a long walk down the beach at midnight.

11. Hugs are the universal medicine.

12. Say I love you, only when you mean it and make sure they know you mean it.

13. Give random gifts of flowers/candy/poetry etc.

14. Tell her that she’s the only girl you ever want. Don’t lie!

15. Spend every second possible together.

16. Look into each other’s eyes.

17. Very lightly push up her chin, look into her eyes, tell her you love her, and kiss her lightly.
18. When in public, only flirt with each other.

19. Put love notes in their pockets when they aren’t looking.

20. Buy her a ring.

21. Sing to each other.

22. Always hold her around her hips/sides.

23. Take her to dinner and do the dinner for two deal.

24. Spaghetti? (Ever see Lady and the Tramp?)

25. Hold her hand, stare into her eyes, kiss her hand and then put it over your heart.

26. Dance together.

27. I love the way a girl looks right after she’s fallen asleep with her head in my lap.

28. Do cute things like write I love you in a note so that they have to look in a mirror to read it.

29. Make excuses for calling them every 5 minutes

30. Even if you are really busy doing something, go out of your way to call and say I love you.

31. Call from your vacation spot to tell them you were thinking about them.

32. Remember your dreams and tell her about them.

34. Tell each other your most sacred secrets/fears.

35. Be Prince Charming to her parents.

36. Brush her hair out of her face for her.

37. Hang out with his/her friends.

38. Go to church/pray/worship together.

39. Take her to see a romantic movie and remember the parts she liked.

40. Learn from each other and don’t make the same mistake twice.

41. Describe the joy you feel just to be with him/her.

42. Make sacrifices for each other.

43. Really love each other, or don’t stay together.

44. Let there never be a second during any given day that you aren’t thinking about them, and make sure they know it.

45. Love yourself before you love anyone else.

46. Learn to say sweet things in foreign languages.

47. Dedicate songs to them on the radio.

48. Fall asleep on the phone with each other.

49. Stand up for them when someone talks trash.

50. Never forget the kiss goodnight and always remember to say, “Sweet dreams.”
